William Barry Clay (59) of Iva, SC went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2017, with loved ones at his side. Born February 3, 1958, Barry was adopted from the Boys Home of the South in Anderson as a young child and grew up in Abbeville, SC and attended school in Abbeville and Due West. Barry derived the greatest pleasure in his last years being Papa to his grandchildren.

Clay of Greer, his sisters Gerriss Klant (Robert) of California, Angela Cook (James) of Maryland, Beth Clay of Maryland, and father Gerald R. Clay (Esther) of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his former mother-in-law Judy Elders and Cory Griffin both of the home, his former brother-in-law Derrick Tucker (Angela) of Iva; and six grandchildren. Barry was preceded in death by his brother Billy James Clay of Maryland, his uncle Joe Ross of Greer, grandparents Ruby Stone Ross and David John Ross (Greer), and Roy Lee Clay and Marie Jolly Clay (Maryland).

The family wishes to thank the Hospice of South Carolina for their extraordinary services with Barry as well as all those who held Barry and the family in prayer.
