The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Kevin McKee can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

A little about my big brother

My older brother, Kevin McKee, always had the most unerringly accurate sense of direction. When he was just a little tot, I'm told he guided our family during a car trip when we were lost; even at that young age, Kev remembered the way and got us safely back. This came in handy as a young adult when he was out hiking and had to run back to safety while being chased downhill by a horde of ferocious, wild boars!

Kevin also had tremendous talent building things, fixing up vintage cars, and so on; there seemed to be nothing he couldn't do. He was mildly obsessive-compulsive, especially about his records, CDs, DVDs and books, but it was this perfectionism that produced such great work on vintage cars and other old items which he loved finding and fixing up.

He loved wolves, bald eagles and other wildlife (except boars!); animals would gravitate to him, and I'm not sure he was ever without at least one dog or cat. He loved the wilderness, including out West in Wyoming, Colorado and Montana. He loved the ocean, skiing, camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, and sleeping out under the stars. He enjoyed his own company but also that of others.

Kev loved discovering and fixing up vintage items, especially from the 1920s through the 1960s. He adored Art Deco, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, tatoos, Snoopy, Rock 'n Roll and electric guitars. He loved to cook and created many memorable holiday meals. He loved the flag and was a discerning centrist who cared about his country and the world. He was what I'd describe as a true American in the best sense of the word. He was somewhat introverted, very smart, wiser than his years, courageous and wickedly funny with a wit so dry it could skin your shins. Most of all, he was a family man, and loved his family deeply. He'll be very, very missed by us all. RIP Bro. We will never forget you. Love, Sis
